Creating the Potheadᵀᴹ
We are putting the PotHeadᵀᴹ to the test, measuring its performance against standard practice in the Australian sun: temperature, moisture retention, and weed control - including herbicide and labour savings. Since June 2021 we have been experimenting with and improving on prototypes in our partner nurseries in NSW - Spruced. Spruced’s nurseries grow conifers and some deciduous trees which all spend a lot of time in pots and require vigilant weeding regimes over their growing cycles. With over a year of experimentation down, our scientifically run experiments are generating tonnes of useful data which will be published here as it is collated.
In October 2022 we commenced an extensive scientific trial partially funded by a Minimum Viable Product grant from the NSW government. This trial is an expansion on the 2021 trials and tests a number of variables in considerably greater numbers to prove with high statistical significance how the PotHeads outperform current weed control technologies in terms of weed control and financial and labour savings.
Trials are now also being conducted in participating nurseries across Australia on a range of crops including blueberries, native trees, citrus and ornamental exotic plants. We will publish this data as it forthcoming and for more information on results so far don’t hesitate to Contact us.
